Teaching
Teaching is a passion and a privilege for me and I am fortunate to enjoy a varied range of teaching opportunities.
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
I lecture part-time at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, teaching theory, composition and fiddle/violin. From time to time I enjoy coaching aspiring students through the 'Fair Access' and 'Transitions 2020' programs to prepare them for the audition process and beyond.
Private Teaching
My private students span just about every age and ability and cover Fiddle, Violin, Viola, Piano, Music Theory, Composition and Tune Writing.
Some of us have met weekly for years, others less regularly and I'm happy to meet in person or online. I hold a Diploma in instrumental Teaching (with distinction) from the ARBSM in London and enjoy incorporating a wide range of influences in my teaching.
Collaboration
I'm lucky to have had the chance to collaborate as a teacher with a number of organisations including El Sistema, Celtic Connections, Edinburgh Youth Gatherin, St Leonards IB School, National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, Fèis na h-Apainne, Glasgow City Council, and the East Kilbride Village School of Music.
